Creditinfo Kenya Chief Executive Officer Kamau Kunyiha will now oversee the region following the exit of Seth Marks who moves to Iceland as head of Central and Eastern Europe operations.
The credit rating and analytics firm in a statement said Kamau will continue to head the Kenyan office which has grown under his leadership.
“Kamau has been a key member of the team running Creditinfo Kenya and I am sure his success will continue as regional head, as part of the process of strengthening our presence in East Africa,” said Paul Randall, the global markets director at Creditinfo Group in a statement yesterday.
Randall said the firm will bank on Kamau’s experience to grow its business in the region.
“Kamau has over 15 years’ experience in Credit Risk and Information Management Services at senior management level. He oversaw aggressive client-acquisition through his visionary leadership and strategic thinking,” said Randall.
Creditinfo, which started in Iceland 20 years ago, launched a product they dub “Core Metrics” which is a psychometric scoring tool that can be used by lenders to evaluate prospective clients.
In an interview with CIO East Africa, Seth said the tool “allows the lender to make some empirically informed decision based on an interview to access the customer’s personality in order to make an informed decision before lending to those who have no financial track records to reference.”
Before joining Creditinfo, Kamau worked at Transunion in different roles for five years exiting the credit reference bureau as Chief Executive in 2016.
He has also previously worked at Collections Africa and Credit Reference Bureau Kenya in different capacities.
